1/2 Bath Remodel

Back in late May/early June, Shawn and I embarked on our first "major" home improvement project. We've painted and installed chair rail in most of the rooms in the house, but we decided to tackle our half bath.

Our half bath is probably the smallest one I've ever been in. We knew it needed a fresh update so we saved our pennies and finally started.

Here is the before shots

Old 1980s vanity

Old toilet

Shawn had a fun time with demo :)

Not long after this we got the new tile down on the floor and we painted the wall. That is where the project stopped. The paint showed so many imperfections on the wall where we took the vanity out, where the old towel rack and TP holder used to be. We went back and forth about doing bead board or re-drywalling 2 walls. We finally decided on bead board and proceeded to put that up.

Anyone who knows about home improvement projects knows nothing goes according to plan. After we nailed up all the pieces of the bead board, we noticed a small leak coming form the toilet side of the room. Shawn took down the bead board, and the drywall behind it was completely soaked. Yep, we nailed a pipe. In two places! ugh, so Shawn had to take a day off work trying to fix the patch that we did to fix the hole. He finally did it and put the wall back together. Nice job Shawn!!

The final fix!

We were then able to get the bead board back up and continue on!

And here are the finished photos!!!
